The Institute of Literary Studies invites you to a meeting with Czech writer Karin Lednická, author of the trilogy The Leaning Church (Šikmý kostel), and with Professor Joanna Goszczyńska, who translated the first volume of the series into Polish.
A discussion about the phenomenon of the book, which quickly became a bestseller in the Czech Republic (over half a million copies sold), and about the challenges of translation will take place as part of the MEETINGS WITH LITERATURE (Spotkania z literaturą) series during the Opole Science Festival.
The volume The Leaning Church. Chronicle of a town that vanished, 1894–1921 was published by Znak. Horyzont in 2025.
